Sometimes technology makes me laugh.
A few weeks ago, I visited the financial advisor who is in charge of my plan through work. While I was chatting with him, he had to take a call because his secretary was gone to lunch. He had a bluetooth headset on, so I figured he’d probably take his call via that. I was right.
What I was wrong about, however, was the sophistication of the system. Instead of being a slick bluetooth phone, he instead pushed a button on his actual desk phone, a two line very plain jane phone circa early 1990s. A small motor lifted the phone off the cradle, then moved a small microphone and amplifier system over the headset.
It looked almost nostalgic, like the modems from the early 70s and 80s that actually cradled over the phone. I got a small chuckle out of it.
Dooley’s recent post about the First Wok reminded me of twost time I went there.
While I was waiting for my to go box at Fazoli’s, there was a customer complaining about her order. This lady had ordered a chicken and pasta caesar salad and was unhappy about the size. Her complaint was warranted because she only received the pasta salad. What she wanted was the chicken and pasta caeser salad, without the lettuce, only the pasta, chicken, and cheese. The salad also comes with grape tomatoes, she didn’t want those either.
Wednesday morning didn’t start off to well.
