To anyone who has sat in front of a grumpy 2 year old on an airplane before - I salute you.
That kid had something out for my seat, and he wasn’t afraid to kick it. The poor mom was doing everything she could, and I couldn’t really blame her because it’s just 2 year old nature, but that was a rough couple of hours for the Caleb.
I’m oating for a 3 day weekend, but before I do I wanted to pose this question.
Let’s say it’s noon on Thursday. You have 24 hours from now to gather as much cash money as possible. You can borrow from friends, take what you’ve got, go to the bank and get money from your credit cards, etc. But here are the rules:
* It only counts if you can get it as CASH
* You have to have it in your hands in 24 hours (so if you have money in your paypal account, that probably isn’t going to work)
* You can borrow money from friends and family, but be realistic in what you think they can get in 24 hours and what they would let you have if you could convince them to give it to you.
* You can max our your credit card cash advances, cash in savings bonds, etc.
How much cash do you think you can come up with?
In case you wondered if real people do die in tornados, I thought I’d inform you that aunt (by marriage) lost her neice and nephew in the tornados that came through near Nashville TN a couple of weeks ago.
To all of you,
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Jodi was 26 and her
husband, Jeremy Price was 27. They were found about an 1/8 of a mile
from the house. The house was totally destroyed by the tornado and
according to Jodi’s mother, Darlene (Loretta’s sister), you wouldn’t
know a house had been there. They found pictures of Jodi/Jeremy about 12
miles away that had come from the house. Some stuff from that area has
been found 80 miles away. According to Darlene the tornado was upgraded
to an F-5 once FEMA saw the damage done in the area of Maxey and New
Bern, TN. I believe Darlene said the damage was 1/2 mile wide and 12
miles long. The tornado sucked a grandma, grandpa, and grandson out of
their basement and killed them, too. A sadder note, Jodi died on her
mother’s birthday, April 2nd. Darlene and her husband, Carl, are
struggling right now and could use your prayers. They lost a son about
6-8 years ago to a traffic accident. They have a daughter and son still
living. Angie is married and lives in OK, while their son, Anthony,
lives with them. Thanks again.
I don’t remember if I already blogged this (a 10 second search didn’t have it show up)…
On our way back from Orlando in early Feb, the pilot forgot to turn off the fasten seat belts sigh. We had some minor turbulence for the first 30 minutes of the flight, but after that it was smooth. But he never turned the sign off.
As you can imagine, after about 30 minutes people start getting restless and many have to pee (self included, wife especially included).
So people would just get up and go. And every once in a while they’d come over the loudspeaker and reannounce “please stay in your seats when the sign is lit up”.
Finally, some really old guy who had to go really bad asked the flight attendant to talk to the pilot, and she did, and 30 seconds later the sign went off. So it was just a simple case of him having forgotten.
However, one time when the wife really had to go she asked the male flight attendant about going.
Wife: I gotta go pee
FA: I can’t let you go, the sign is on
Wife: I really really gotta go man.
FA: Listen. I can’t give you permission to go. Hint hint, wink wink.
So in summary, if you have to pee just get up and go. Just know that if the plane rolls upside down, you’ll be coated in some severe nastiness in that little potty room.
