Amber Alert

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

I heard on the news this morning that there was an Amber alert in effect for a recent abducted child. The Amber Alert was started after 9-year-old Amber Hagerman was kidnapped while riding a bicycle in Texas. Movie Review: 11:14

Monday, October 16th, 2006

The wife and I don’t watch a lot of movies. When we do go and rent one, we usually take a long time just trying to find one we’re interested in. Last time we got one, it was in the “somewhat new but not really” section. It cost a buck for 5 days. That’s my kind of movie.

The movie was called “11:14″, which means fourteen minutes past 11. It looked intruiging, and let me tell you, it was.

I highly recommend you finding and renting this movie. It wasn’t long, and I wouldn’t say it was intense, but it kept you guessing and on the edge of your seat. If you liked the movie Crash, this is a good movie for you.

It featured Rachel Leigh Cook, Hilary Swank, Patrick Swayze, and a bunch of other folks who I don’t know their names. The acting was very good, and the story was, well, interesting.

In summary: rent this movie. You will like it.

Home Improvement: Basement Floor

Our basement isn’t big enough to be a mecca of entertainment; instead it’s big enough to comfortably house the furnace, water heater, softener, washer and dryer. There’s quite a bit of storage space as well, and we definitely use it. But it’s not an extremely pleasant place, with the concrete floor and exposed plumbing and electrical wiring.
