Good things come in 5s?
Talked to my grandma and my mom last night, after a few week hiatus. Here’s what I found out:
My grandfather is in Methodist Hospital. He went to get a pacemaker put in, but they told him it wouldn’t help. So they put in some kind of defibrulator device. He’s doing better, and should be out today.
My youngest step brother was in a car wreck last week and was also taken to Methodist (from Brazil In, by ambulance. I bet that’s expensive). He had lots of broken items and had some kind of plastic surgery and orthopedic surgery to be repaired. He’s out now.
My youngest step sister broke her nose a few weeks ago, so she went to the doctor and they had to “rebreak” it to set it properly. Then, just last week, she was at work and someone slammed a door shut to a freezer which hit her in the nose rebreaking it yet again. So she had to go back to the doctor and have it re-re-re-broken to set it into place. 4 nose breaks in 1 month.
My stepdad’s father had emergency gull bladder surgery the same day as my youngest step brother went into the hospital. He’s fine now.
My oldest stepsister’s husband’s mother died on the same day as well.
My uncle Mark’s company announced they were closing Sept 1, putting him out of a job. His wife was previously let go a few months ago when the place she worked (a foster home) also was closed.
My mom is fearful that she’s going to lose her job, due to restructing in the state government. She has 28 years there now.
I asked my mom if she had any good news. She couldn’t think of any.
sigh.
