Marriage
Does anyone else out there find the word ” fiancee’ ” funny? I mean, it’s a pretty commonly used word these days, and we have no better way to describe it other than by using a tacky french concoction? What can we start using as an alternative?
“This is my fiancee”
“This is my woman I’m getting married to”
“This is my beetch”
Something’s gotta be better than fiancee. Cmon back now.

Whilst I was engaged I never used the word for the reasons you have outlined. It’s a trach word and I hate it.
How about bantwan instead of fiancee?

i too think it’s a stupid word, and would still refer to stacey as my girlfriend, and would periodically be corrected. a guy said guys aren’t a fiance, they’re a financeer

I like theDuck’s use of “finance.” However I’d bet that confuses pretty much ever non-duck person with whom it is used.
