Observations (or, some pics)
While I’m sure you’d just love to kill lots of time at work today by looking at pictures from our Canada trip, I’m going to humor you simply by posting three of the ones that are the most memorable.
On the way, we stopped and saw Annie’s sister in Ashland, Ohio. It was at the campus bookstore that I ran across this little gem. I mean, seriously - is this that difficult?
On one of the touristy streets there was a Burger King - which I alluded to in the previous blog entry. Here is a picture of the outside door. Things to note about this place:
- 1.00 to use the potties unless you buy something
- NO OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED
- There were many signs: NO REFILLS
- All of the food was outrageously priced in comparison to stateside BKs
- As an example, my kid’s sized diet coke was $1.95 (around $1.60 US)
- There were many signs about how they took American dollars, but ONLY GAVE CANADIAN CHANGE.
- I’m fairly certain if you asked for it “your way”, you would have been told to get the hell out.
Finally, here’s a pic of Circus World, which was in a row of shops not far from our hotel. What fascinated me the most about Circus World was that it didn’t sell anything circus related. It was a place that sold T-shirts, key chains, and various other sundries. We ate dinner one night at the building next door (Antica’s) and I can say that without doubt, Circus World has no circus related merchandise.
Habba enjoy.
