iPod

I bought an iPod video last week. It’s very very nice. I’m not a music junkie, per se, but I find that I am listening to music more now that I have it.

However, the video feature is what I really like. I download shows from the Tivo and after some magic transformations I can put things like Saturday Night Live on the iPod (and save $1.99 from buying it) and watch it while I’m at the gym. Very very nice and nifty.

    jean ricky tivotogo. it just takes so long to transfer and transcode. what are you using?

    Agreed.

    I use the Tivo Desktop utility to transfer them to my PC.

    Then I use the “Direct Show Dump Utility” to change them from tivo format to mpeg.

    Then I use “Videora iPod Converter” to actually convert them down to .mp4 format that is the right size for the iPod.

    All of them are free, but it takes a while to run them all.
