Thundercats
I was thinking about the Thundercats today.

Go ahead and watch it. I’ll wait. This really only pertains to you if you watched the show in the past anyway.
So, if you remember, Lion-O always said “Thunder…THUNDER….THUNDERCATS…HO”. And as he said this, his sword grew bigger in three discrete chunks.
But what was the purpose of the three growth spurts of the sword? I never saw an episode where he stopped after one yelling of Thunder…like he only want it to grow a little bit. No, he always made it go to maximum length, which took 3 Thunders to get to.
This seems very inefficient to me.

Dude, would you stop growing IT only a little bit, or would you go for maximum length? I mean, seriously…

Maximum length, always. My point is “why does he have intermediate lengths, when he always went for the maximum anyway”?

Cheetarah was hot.

What about if he needed to make a sandwich, open mail, do some gardening or maybe flip some pancakes. Intermediate lengths would do well for Thundercat temple choirs.

dude, that’s just how the sword works.
if he knew how to make it take less THUNDERs he probably would, but he’s a cat, for cryin out loud. you cannot change the deep magic at work within the eye of thundera.

I remember rating Thundercats high on my list of favorite cartoons. I never thought much about the length thing; I’m sure it’s more for dramatic purposes than anything. When he carried the sword did it look unusually big? I can’t remember. Also, I don’t think I ever saw that 2nd intro.

Ahh Thundercats! That brings back such great memories.
By the way, they’re releasing he DVDs of Thundercats soon (if it’s not already out).
