Confused?

Last night Caleb and I got our third Comcast bill in about three weeks. So, I’m on the phone with Comcast right now.

I had to enter my phone number, twice, before I was able to reach a menu that didn’t have the option I wanted; I wanted to talk to an operator. No option to talk to an operator so I hit zero a bunch of times. I got an operator and I explained the situation. Operator 1 put me on hold and somehow I ended up back at the main menu.

Operator 2, was able to tell me that I’m now on a different billing cycle; the old billing cycle ended at the end of the month while the billing cycle I’m on now ends on the 14th of the month. She also told me that bill I received last night is due tomorrow. After complaining about the late fee, she waived it. Then I asked about the the increase in the bill; between $10 - $15 a month. She put me on hold and I got disconnected.

So I called back. I gave up entering my phone number and just started pressing zeros until I got an operator. Operator 3 told me that the bill is not due tomorrow, it’s due on 06/24; so no late bill. I once again asked about the change in rate (we had been getting a $10 a month credit because we had internet & cable). Unfortunately, Comcast doesn’t honor promotions on transfers. However, Operator 3 was able to offer me internet at $29.99 for the next four months, a savings of $12.93 * 4 but not as good as the old deal.

To get the promotion they have to do some funky billing tricks. For June, I don’t owe for high speed cable but in four months when the promotion is over, I will get a prorated bill for the high speed internet for June. Any one else confused about all the red tape at Comcast?
