Vegas
It’s Vegas week on the Travel Channel, and while they show the same stuff they’ve showed for the past few years, this year they’ve got a few new interesting shows.
On one show I caught a little bit of, they were asking people around Vegas questions to see what the general response was. One such question: If someone came up to you with a handful of casino chips and said they were in a hurry to get to the airport and offered to sell them to you for 50 cents on the dollar, would you do it?
The response: 60% of people said no, 40% said yes.
Then they went on to explain how this was a pretty popular scam in Vegas, and it’s still very popular because 40% of people will fall for it. Also, what ends up happening is that when you go to cash in the “fake” chips, you get in trouble for having a whole bunch of counterfeit chips in your possession that you’re trying to trade in.
Morons.
But, then my favorite was when they were interviewing some random guy about this question, to which he responded: “No, I don’t really know what the chips are supposed to look like, so I probably wouldn’t do it. I’d just ask them how much money they needed and give it to them, and let them keep their chips”.
Note to self: find out who this guy is, and hit him up for money.
