NES

Everyone from late generation X and early generation Y has a favorite Nintendo (NES) game.

Crystalis Logo

This is my favorite.

It was an RPG, but without the same intensity as some of the more advanced RPGs, like Final Fantasy. It took a while to beat, but you kept progressing forward in story, which is what I liked about it. The game play was fun, and you had to think in spots. It was much like the original Zelda, only more advanced and with better graphics. And it didn’t suffer from my most unfavoriate thing about RPGs - where you had to stop somewhere in the story and spend the next few hours killing monsters to earn gold to buy things.

And rounding out the top five:

The Legend of Zelda (original one)

The Guardian Legend

Rygar

Castlevania

What are/were your favorite NES games?

Rygar sucked. I beat that game one night, but it took all night because it was hard to save or somehting. Like you could only save after you got to a certain point or something?

Crystalis was a pretty sweet game. I’d say some of my favorite NES games were River City Ransom, Zelda, Mario, and Castlevania.
