Meltage
We have had a bag of M&ms in the freezer now for a while. Slowly we’ve been working our way through them. The other night I had some and the following conversation with my wife ensued:
As I was finishing off the 20 or so I had in my hand:
me: What the eff? My hand is all sorts of colors.
her: yeah, frozen m&m’s do that
me: I thought they were supposed to melt in your mouth and not in your hand
And we then decided that frozen M&Ms indeed do melt in your hand. At least, the coloring on the outside melts in your hand.
Did anyone else already know this? Can I sue Mars Co and get some money for false advertising? Or at least, score some free candy?

i’ve had colors come off on my hands before from non-frozen m^2’s. it’s trach, but they’re not really melting i suppose…

the bigger question is, why are you keeping m&m’s in teh freezer?
candy belongs in your belly, not in any other appliance.

My guess is that when you took them out of the freezer, their cold temperature causes a small amount of condensation to form on them (perhaps not even a noticable amount) since the room is mo betta warm and has some humidity. Wet mms = colored hands.

i prefer them slightly warm. then when you bite them there is a chocolate explosion in your mouth…actually I just found this out when i forgot them in the hot car and didn’t want to wait for them to cool off. but they didn’t make my hands colored.
and on another note…annie- I got your message about the book club, and it sounds cool, but I am already in a small group that meets on tuesdays, sorry! thanks for the invite though!
