Vacation

Well, we did it. We’re officially going on vacation.

2004 was, without a doubt, a work year for me. I took two days off in April to go to Las Vegas, and took 1 day off in September on my birthday. But other than that, I worked everday and didn’t travel much at all. Now, with the end of school rapidly approaching and the thought of needing to get away, Annie and I are going to take a fun vacation in May.

We’re going to Disneyworld. My last visit, which I blogged about, was November 2002 - entirely too long ago.

We’ll be going for 7 days, Saturday to Saturday. I’ve never been for that long before - my previous trip was 5 days and prior to that it was always 3-4 day trips. But, the new pricing of Disney tickets allows you to take advantage of longer stays (a 10 day ticket is only about 10 bucks more expensive than a 4 day ticket). This is great for Disney, because it makes you stay longer in their resorts and spend more money on food and souvenirs as well.

The first four nights we’ll be at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, our room overlooking an artifical African Savannah full of big critters. I’ve stayed here once before, and I must say that it is, in my opinion, the nicest property at the resort.

The rest of the trip, we’ll be staying at the Boardwalk Inn - a place where I’ve only passed by but never actually resided. It’s a disney “Deluxe Resort”, as is the AKL, so I’ve got high expectations.

I’m pumped. If anything, May is looking to be a great month!

Why are you staying at two different places? Just for different scenery or closeness to different parks?
