Driving scenario
So on the way home, I stop at the beer store to replenish my supplies.
And here’s me, trying to leave:

Now, traffic was busy because it was downtown and rush hour, so there was a lot of waiting on my part. Finally, a lady stops to “let me out”:

The lady is waving me to pull out. She’s even keenly watching the oncoming traffic to make sure it’s safe for me to go. But she is failing to watch the traffic coming behind her in the other lane, and it’s not stopping. So I can’t go, lest I would get hit. This only irritates her, because she’s offering me a chance to go, but I’m not taking it.
Sadly, she’s getting a little frustrated that I’m not going, but she isn’t paying any attention to the fact that if I went I would get clobbered. So, I decide to appease her by pulling out right in front of her to block her lane, but not continue moving forward until it’s safe. About 15 more seconds pass, then it’s finally safe in all directions. I go.
This scenario has happened to me before, and surely it’s nothing new to any of you. Thus, we need to name it something so we all know what everyone is taking about. Any thoughts?

saw something similar once where I was in lady’s lane turning right into a drive where you were sitting. dude that was sitting there started pulling out, not seeing the vehicle that was hidden behind my truck in the other lane (no, i wasn’t waving him on to come out). BOOM! Was a classic car too, albeit an ugly one, poor stupid bastard.

My wife was once one of those people in the second lane and got clobbered by the fellow pulling out (who obviously wasn’t as careful as you). Fortunately, only car damage, no personal injuries.

i always wanted to know who would be at fault if two cars hit while merging into the middle lane of a three lane innerstate? i see this almost happen at least once a month.
