The womens
Lunch today was at a small local restaurant. It was pretty crowded - mostly men. A lot of Cummins engineers (you can tell by the shirts they wear), some factory workers, and a couple of high school students.
In walks a group of four more Cummins engineers, one of which is a tall, skinny, well-dressed attractive woman.
At this point, I notice that a lot of people in there are casually glancing at her every chance they get. I start people watching all of the other folks in there, and I see that most of the men will sneak a peek to take a look at her every 10-15 seconds.
Now, she has to know this is going on, right? Is it just something that women put up with? I’m sure she’s used to being in a position where she’s surrounded by lots of men (innuendos aside, I can’t think of a more appropriate way to phrase that). It was an interesting observation, to say the least. The ‘casual’ observations were very blatant in many cases. I’m quite certain that if there weren’t societal implications against it, some of the guys probably would have gone over and started sniffing her like canines do.
Anyway, definitely made my lunch more interesting.
