Map Story
Hello world of the intertubewebs,
Before I leave for a few days, I wanted to share this story that I found mildly humorous (or humourous if you’re into alternative spellings):
I present to you a map of east Columbus, of which there are two markers. The RED X represents where I work. The BLUE X represents a customer’s location. The BLUE X customer just happens to be one of the closest customers we have. I mean, they’re only about 2 miles away as the crow flies (I dropped in the scale in the middle of the map so you could get a feel for distance).

This part of town isn’t crowded at all; it’s just a bunch of big industries. So, if you work in this part of town you’re basically familiar with all of the big names of the facilities in this area. What I’m getting at here is that basically everyone in this area knows where everything is located.
Except one of our customers who has a meeting scheduled with us this week. Though he’s been here before, he doesn’t remember how to get here, so he needed refreshed. I find this comical because this has got to be the simplest possible direction giving you could give: “turn”. I mean, we usually have to get out a huge map of the city and explain in great detail just how to navigate to this part of town. But to explain this direction to someone who has been here before; that’s laughable.
Sorry, it’s a slow day.
