Teh Vegas and Home Entertainment

We just got back from a 4 day trip to Las Vegas.

Normally I’d share all of the details, but since one of my travel companions has already written it all up, I’ll defer to his entry. Needless to say, good times were had by all.

I do want to share this little story, non-related to Vegas:

Yesterday after work I went to the bank to deposit the leftover cash I had from the Vegas trip and also to deposit my Christmas bonus check. When I pulled into the bank, I noticed a large black SUV quickly work its way across two lanes of traffic to get behind me to also pull into the bank. When I pulled up to the drive through he pulled up to the lane next to mine. Then he honked, and motioned for me to roll down my passenger side window.

Guy: Hey man, you want a free home entertainment system?

Me: Uhh…no thanks.

Guy: It’s awesome man. It’s worth more than my truck.

Me: Well…I don’t think it will fit in my car.

Guy: Oh yeah it will, no problem.

Me: Okay, but no thanks sitll.

Guy: Okay!

And he pulled off. Now, I’m not sure what was going on with that. I might have been a bit more interested had I not had a substantial amount of money in my possession. But what do you think? How often do you get flagged down for someone to give you something like this? What’s the catch here? Were they just going to rob me? It seems unlikely, since we had just pulled into a bank, but I suppose you never know.
