A recent exploit listing of website shows that we are indeed not as safe as we think we are.

If you go to the above link and go to a paypal site, note that you are really going to www.paypal.com, it’s just that one of the a’s in that address happens to be from another language font, much like an n with a tilde over it. It’s very subtle, but at least on my toolbar I can see the difference in the a’s.

But who’s going to be paying that close of attention? I hope they come up with a smart way to fix it.

Anyway, this reminds me: if you have not yet, you really need to dump Internet Explorer for Mozilla, Firefox (my choice), or Opera.

Furthermore, you need to change the IE settings to the highest security you can, and only allow IE to access a few sites, most notably:

https://www.windowsupdate.com
https://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Otherwise you’ll never get any Windows updates.
