SIL2 Gets Married

Celeb and I headed up to A-town after work on Thursday for SIL2’s wedding.

The festivities started with a quick belated birthday party for both Wendi and I (our birthday’s were the weekend before).

Friday was a flurry of activities. The morning started off with the finishing of the centerpieces - customized wine bottles. Brandon, the best man and the groom’s younger brother, showed up mid-morning to start frosting the cake.

Mark ’s (the groom) family showed up a bit later and hung around the house until we headed to the rehearsal

Celeb was put in charge of the wedding music. Here are Celeb and Wendi going over the list.
Now would probably be a good time to note that the church lacked electricity - bad choice for a June wedding.

SIL1, Celeb, and I bolted after the rehearsal dinner. We made it home before everyone else; fortunately for us, there was a bucket of frosting in the house.

Saturday, I was up early to head to the reception hall (reception hall = back room at a bar) with my mom to decorate. Dad and Celeb showed up a bit later to help out. Luckily decorating went pretty fast. When we got back, Brandon was busy decorating the three tier cake. Celeb had a few spare minutes and threw together and iMovie of Wendi and Mark pictures. Dad, Brandon, Celeb, and I headed back to the reception hall to test out the movie and finish up the decorations. While we were finishing up the decorations and assembling the cake, Dick the reception hall owner offered beers but we had to declined.

The wedding was short and sweet. Then we all mingled with the new couple.

Wendi and Mark snuck away for a few minutes.

Then after about 1000 pictures, we headed off to the reception.

Caleb admired the cake

while we waited for the fried chicken, steak, and fixin’s. Wendi thought the chicken was finger lickin’ good.

There was all the traditional wedding reception stuff. But I did get a great picture of the photographer during garter activities.

Wendi and Mark picked up some extra cash during the dollar dance.

I was also able to catch a few of my dad’s high school buddies doing the electric slide.

Here’s my Dad enjoying the fact that two of his three daughters are now someone else’s worry.
