Vacation Deux

A few weeks ago I wrote about one of my favorite attactions at Epcot. Here’s one of my favorites at MGM Studios:

I’m a big fan of Muppetvision 3D, which is a 13 minute stage and screen show set inside of the famous theatre from the TV show (you know those two old guys in the balcony, right? That’s the theatre).

Anyway, the show actually starts in the pre-show, a big waiting room with TV monitors that you can watch a 12 minute preshow to keep you entertained while you’re waiting for the real show. It’s a prelude to what’s going to happen, but it has various muppet related acts auditioning for the show you are about to see.

After that hilarity, you sit in the theatre and get treated to the actual muppet show, which, remember is in 3D. You get some funky goggles to put on. There’s a live penguin band (animatronics), and the Swedish Chef makes a live appearance as does Sweetums.

If you ever watched the muppets, you’ll appreciate the show, because there’s plenty of adult humor intertwined into the bits. Yeah, they’re puppets. But so are the crank yankers.

All in all it’s a great way place at Disneyworld to get out of the sun, relax a bit, and have a good time doing it. It’s not fast paced, but it is pretty funny, and it will keep you on your toes as you watch.
