Labor Days

Celeb and I decided to wrap up the summer by laboring away on the house.

But first we started the weekend with a trip to Indy. Indy wasn’t in the original weekend plan but Celeb discovered he needed new glass after a special trip to the eye doctor earlier in the week; the visit was special because it wasn’t covered by insurance because it was a few months early. Why go to Indy to get glasses you ask, because you can get Two Pair for $69.95. Celeb opted for one pair at $49.95 but you still can’t beat that price. Since we were in Indy, I made Celeb do a bit of shopping and then we headed back to C-bus. Back in town, we hit the Menards so we had everything we needed to finish the entryway/stairway/upstairs hallway.

The goal for Sunday was to get the upstairs primed, the ceiling on the first floor painted, and then paint the upstairs. The first floor and stairway had been primed and painted during the earlier in the week. Monday, Celeb put up a new light fixture and replaced all of the switches in the room. I finished up the trim in the entryway and got started on the trim upstairs. Normally, I wouldn’t have painted the trim but the downstairs trim was peach and the trim upstairs was off-white and we wanted bright white. There’s still quite a bit of trim and doors to paint and it’s going to take two coats. But we’re getting close to being finished.

Originally, I was disappointed when Celeb and I decided to paint because I liked the room the way it was but I the new paint job is a vast improvement and I’m a big fan. As soon as the trim gets finished up, we’ll post pictures.
